When Humber events company accept your booking we do so in good faith and will make every effort to deliver and setup your hired equipment on time as per your booking agreement, We never like to let any of our customers down however all outdoor bouncy castle and soft play hires are weather dependant as per our booking terms and conditions that you agree to when booking.

If you hire a bouncy castle and it rains, the safety of using the inflatable can be compromised. Most inflatable units are made of a waterproof material, but water can accumulate on the surface of the bouncy castle, making it slippery and potentially dangerous for children to play on. Additionally, the presence of water can cause the bouncy castle to become heavy and difficult to inflate.

The best course of action is to not use the bouncy castle in the rain. We have a policy in place that allows you to reschedule or cancel if the weather is bad, and will also advise you on what to do if it starts raining while the bouncy castle is in use.

Safety is always our number 1 priority and should the weather conditions on the day of your hire be or be forecast by the MET office to be unsafe or unsuitable we will be unable to setup your hired equipment for safety reasons.

Humber events company has the right to cancel or refuse setup of hired equipment for any reason.

*If the castle/inflatable is delivered and set up and then not used due to rain unfortunately there is no refund available. On the day prior to the hire if we think the weather is unsafe we will give customers a courtesy call. It’s within our rights to cancel if the weather is forecast to be heavy rain or wind gusts above 24mph. In this situation any deposit will be refunded. Please remember that we only would cancel your hire if it was deemed unsafe for the children as they are our top priority.

If your booking looks like it will be affected either by wind or rain, we will initially contact you 48 hours before your hire date to advise of the weather forecast. If the forecast does not change the night before your booking we will telephone you to discuss your booking.

Proposed solutions may include:

  • A delayed delivery and setup time
  • Moving your booking to an alternative date, subject to our availability
  • Moving your booking to an indoor location, this will be subject to our availability

If no suitable alternative solution can be agreed on we will cancel your booking and at our discretion issue a credit note for your non-refundable booking fee payment.

We never want to cancel a booking but any decision we take will always be on the grounds of safety of users and our equipment.

HOT WEATHER:

Where the weather is particularly hot during summer months and heat waves, for example, The fabric of castles and mats gets very, very hot in the sun. Make sure the children are wearing socks so as not to burn the soles of their feet. Make sure they have a shade erected or position the inflatable so the sun is not shining directly into the castle. Remember our erectors will not know your hot spots during the intended hire period so please let them know on delivery and they will be happy to help. Do not be tempted to dowse the inflatable in water as this will cool the castle very temporarily but then the residual water will magnify the sun’s rays and heat up the PVC again very fast. Dot let children use the inflatable if the weather is too hot.

WINDY WEATHER:

Please remember that inflatables shall not be used in wind conditions above 24mph . The hirer will remain responsible for suitable action to be taken to avoid injury unless our staff have been provided to assist at an additional cost. In windy conditions where no indoor alternative has been sourced on the day, Our team will install the inflatable and leave it uninflated. It MUST NOT be re-inflated unless the anemometer reading is less the 18mph and the met office reading shows gusts under 24mph. We strongly advise downloading the met office app in order to aid supervision.

If an inflatable becomes wet, simply wipe with a towel until dry. Never ever compromise on safety and feel free to call us  on 07849365277 if your even the slightest bit unsure.

Please be advised to check the Governments met office at regular intervals to keep track of the wind and rain readings at the start of your hire in order to decide how regularly to check. If the wind speed is likely to be in the caution zone of 19 to 24 MPH during your hire, Please check the forecast every 15minutes by downloading the app or visiting the website; https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/ or more practically keep an eye on the following Beaufort scale.
