Weather-Dependent Hire Conditions

All outdoor bouncy castle hires are subject to weather conditions. Here's what you need to know about different weather scenarios.

Safety concerns with wet inflatables

  • Water accumulation makes surfaces slippery and dangerous
  • Inflatables become heavy and difficult to maintain
  • No refund if equipment is delivered and set up before rain
  • Courtesy call provided if heavy rain is forecast
  • We may cancel if conditions are deemed unsafe

Critical safety threshold: 24mph wind gusts

  • Inflatables must not be used in winds above 24mph
  • Equipment installed but left uninflated in borderline conditions
  • Only re-inflate when anemometer reads below 18mph
  • Check Met Office app regularly during hire period
  • Hirer responsible for monitoring unless staff provided

Precautions for summer heat waves

  • Castle fabric and mats get extremely hot in direct sun
  • Children must wear socks to prevent burns
  • Position inflatable away from direct sunlight when possible
  • Do not dowse with water - magnifies heat from sun rays
  • Discontinue use if weather becomes too hot

When Humber Events Company accepts your booking, we commit to delivering and setting up your equipment on time. However, safety always comes first.

Our Commitment

We work in good faith to ensure you have a great experience. All decisions regarding weather cancellations are made on the grounds of user safety and equipment protection.

48-Hour Notice

If your booking looks affected by weather, we'll contact you 48 hours before your hire date. We'll call again the night before if forecasts haven't improved.

Cancellation Policies

Cancellation by Customer

All cancellations must be made via email only

Confirmation will be sent via email - keep this as proof

Cancellations cannot be taken by voicemail, text, or other methods

Important Note:

If equipment is delivered and set up but not used due to rain, unfortunately no refund is available.

Cancellation by Humber Events

We cancel only when winds exceed 24mph for safety

Bound by health and safety guidelines - no exceptions

Full refund issued if we need to cancel due to weather

What Happens Next?

You'll be notified ASAP with options to reschedule or receive a full refund. We'll work closely with you to find alternatives.

Credit Note Policy

If no suitable alternative solution can be agreed upon, we will cancel your booking and at our discretion issue a credit note for your non-refundable booking fee payment. We never want to cancel a booking, but any decision we take will always be on the grounds of safety.
