Local venue planning guide
The notes below are practical starting points, not venue approvals or fixed measurements. Humber Events Company is not claiming an official partnership with any venue listed. Always confirm the final room plan, supplier rules and access times directly with your venue.
This purpose-built timber lodge sits within a large woodland setting beside a lake and offers indoor and outdoor ceremony possibilities. For evening installation, confirm the supplier arrival window, unloading route and which doors lead most directly to the reception space.
Consider 16ft, 18ft or 20ft for a larger lodge reception, subject to the finished table plan, bar, DJ or band position and required walkways.
Renovated barns in a private rural Yorkshire Wolds setting give couples space to shape a very personal celebration; the venue also has three log cabins sleeping 12 in total. Ask where suppliers should unload and when the reception barn is clear after dining setup.
A 14ft or 16ft floor can preserve circulation in a tighter layout; 18ft may suit a larger evening plan where a clear square remains after tables and entertainment are placed.
A characterful country house dating from 1864, with elegant lounges, a stylish bar, licensed celebration spaces and private grounds. Heritage interiors make the agreed carrying route, door widths, floor protection and room turnaround time especially worth confirming.
Look first at 12ft, 14ft or 16ft depending on which room is used. The best size is the largest clear square that still keeps doors, service routes and guest seating comfortable.
Sledmere can host celebrations across distinct settings, including principal state rooms, a barn reception and the Marquee Lawn near St Mary's Church. Supplier access and suitable timings can differ significantly between the historic house, barn and temporary marquee.
For a state room, begin with 12ft or 14ft and protect circulation. Barn or marquee layouts may suit 16ft, 18ft or 20ft once the final dimensions and level installation surface are confirmed.
This historic town-centre hotel offers function spaces for weddings and events. Because central loading, internal door routes and the position of dining tables can affect usable space, share the confirmed function room and request a clear supplier access plan.
A 12ft or 14ft floor may work well in a compact function-room plan. A 16ft floor should only be selected after the venue confirms the unobstructed footprint around tables, doors and entertainment.
